Color Workshop Week 1

Greetings! I had a wonderful time in the Color Workshop this past Saturday!

Here are the links to videos that demonstrate the techniques we have covered so far:

The Jogless Stripe ( and more!) – YouTube – Jogless Stripes in the Round – KDTV 311 with Eunny Jang

For two color knitting – Fair Isle in the round part 1 and 2

– YouTube – EASY FAIR ISLE ON CIRCULAR NEEDLE

– YouTube – EASY FAIR ISLE ON CIRCULAR NEEDLE 2

Here is a link to Beth Brown Reinsel blog on Yarn Dominance – Yarn Dominance « Knitting along The Way

and a link to the End Paper Mitts pattern by Eunny Jung (that Eli mentioned in class!) See Eunny Knit!: Endpaper Mitts

I am really looking forward to our second class. We’ll cover the braided cast-on, “weaving” in Fair Isle knitting, Intarsia (technique in the round), slip stitches, updated version of the applied i-cord by Joyce Williams, and of course having some fun with those Color Wheels!

In the next couple of days I will post the list of books I recommend on this topic. If you’d like, you can subscribe to my blog to receive the current blog-posts in your email as soon as I post them.

Again, let me know if there are any questions that came up from the first week of class or if there are any other color techniques you’d like to learn but I haven’t mentioned in the curriculum – just email me.

Happy Colorful Knitting! Jessica

P.S. A reminder to bring another skein of yarn from your stash – a color that catches your breath! And if you so desire, practice your fair isle! See you soon.
