Sweater Sampler Class – Week 5

Greetings,

Tonight is our “last” class in this series. Remember, I’m in the shop on Friday afternoons for scheduled consults for any follow-up work that needs to be done.

Just to give you all perspective….

You have learned:

the cable cast-on

the difference between stockinette stitch and garter stitch – and how to do!

knitting in the round

a variety of ribbings – knit 1 purl 1, the twisted rib, knit 2 purl 2, adding stripes in ribbing

short rows! how to do and why!

chain selvedge

the cardigan border and a buttonhole!

the sweatshirt pocket!

the bar increase, and in pairs

stripes, slip stitch – raised stripes

raglan seamline decreases – ARE YOU FEELING SMART yet?!

AND two color knitting!

reading grafts!

swiss darning

the knitted icord

the knitted belt

so….

tonight we will do review of any of the above and more:

lacing round

a series of different cast-offs –

the knitted cord cast-off and knitted loop

a lace cast-off

casting-off in ribbing

a personalized hem

the afterthought pocket and of course a demonstration of grafting.

I also plan to do a quick demo of Ravelry.com – it’s a fabulous resource that no knitter should go without.

so, I guess what I’m saying is good job! and I’ll see you tonight to do a little more learning.

happy knitting, Jessica
